Dr. Kathy Hotsenpiller majored in biology and earned her undergraduate degree from Kenyon College in Ohio in 1995. After doing cancer research and coordinating oncology clinical trials for four years, she decided to go to optometry school in Chicago. She graduated from the Illinois College of Optometry in 2003. Dr. Hotsenpiller previously worked in private practice before joining Dr. Fitzgerald in 2013. She not only enjoys primary eye care, but also enjoys fitting patients who have keratoconus or corneal scarring with specialty contact lenses.  “The most rewarding thing about fitting patients with scleral lenses is seeing the smile on their faces after they realize how much better they can see!” In her spare time Dr. Hotsenpiller enjoys yoga, knitting, and hiking with her family.
